Brief Description

The first in a amazing series of stage races on foot and bike across Ireland and parts of the UK. Tough terrain and beautiful trail. No camping. Lodge near to towns and seaside villages. This race will take you from the northeast coast of Ireland to the southwestern tip of Ireland. The last two days, spent in the beautiful coastal village of Bantry, will see you enjoying a festival atmosphere with live music, food and a lively outdoor celebration to round out your week and race experience.

registration for the Traverse 1000 will close after 60 confirmed registrations.

Locations

Race takes place on mountain and coastal trails outside of the coastal towns of Newcastle, Wicklow and Sneem, Ireland. 1st race goes through Mourne Mountains, Wicklow Way and Gap of Dunloe.

Start/Finish

Eastern shores of Ireland to west coast. Race starts in Newcastle, Ireland and ends in Sneem, Ireland.

Distances

150k - 25k trail race each day....... 300k - 50k trail race each day....... 1000k - approximately 300k on foot and 700k on bike with team of 2 or relay team of (3 - 4)

Deposits

A deposit of $525 for either stage race 150k/300k before Oct 15th, 2012 will reserve a space. Balance must be paid by Jan 1st, 2013.

Pricing

Register in full by Oct 15th for 20% discount. Or register with deposit of $525. Balance due by January 1st, 2013. Scheduled price increases after Oct 15, January 1st and June 1st.

cancellations and refunds

We have a 30-day full refund policy from time of registration. 50% of your registration may be applied to a future race if cancelling up to 90 days before race.

Cliffs of Moher and Castle Tour - post race trip.

Categories: Celtic Trail 150k Off road stage race – running - supported race. Approximately 25k each day for 6 stages. Celtic Trail 300k Off road stage race – running - supported race. Approximately 50k each day for 6 stages. Celtic Traverse 1000k – non-stop off road trail race -running and biking. Teams of 2 or teams of 4 (relay) Only 60 international slots available for the Traverse 1000. Guests - Registered friends and family can travel with the event and have their own activities each day or spend time in towns and coastal beach areas, rejoining stage racers each day.
