Brief Description

We are pleased to announce the 4th annual running of the Paine to Pain Trail Half Marathon. This race is run on the Colonial Greenway, a wooded trail through New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, Eastchester and Scarsdale. Only a very small portion of the race is on pavement. Approximately 12 of the 13.1 miles are run on dirt (and rocks, roots, and other foresty things).

We're using chip timing with wave starts this year, as we expand the field to 750 runners.

Shirts and Good Bags No Longer Guaranteed

We have reached 625 entrants and can no longer guarantee shirts and goody bags. Because there will be some no shows, any leftovers will be distributed after the race on a first come, first serve basis. Our shirt and swag policy can be found at this link.

Please Donate to Trail Maintenance / Improvements

We are using this race to raise money for maintenance and improvements to the Colonial Greenway Trail that hosts Paine to Pain. (Please see: Trail Improvements, Past and Future on the Paine to Pain website.)

You will have an opportunity to donate online when you complete your registration.

We Need Your Past Results

In order for us to properly seed runners between wave starts, please enter your best time for 10K and longer races in 2010 and 2011 when you register.

If you haven't raced 10K or beyond in 2010/11 leave the fields blank.

Race Day Registration

Last year we sold out one month early and had to turn away many runners. Please register online.

Awards/Shirts/Swag

All finishers will receive a medal. First 625 registered receive a shirt and goody bag with assorted swag. Leftovers will be distributed after the race.

Awards will be given three-deep in the following categories:
Overall, 16-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

Age group awards are based on chip timing. Overall awards are based on first runners across the finish line. (So if you think you can win this sucker, you better let us know so we can put you in the first wave.)

Aid Stations

This is a trail race with limited water stops. Water will be provided at miles 4, 7.5 and 11. Runners should strongly consider carrying supplemental fluids and fuel.

Medical attention will be available at each aid station.

Toilets will be available at the start, mile 7.5 and the finish.
