Brief Description

On Saturday, August 27, 2011, the Sixth Annual Officer Shawn Silvera Memorial Run will take place at the Long Lake Regional Park. With a variety of activities for families and races for all ages, this event will celebrate life and family.

Schedule of Events

Race Day Registration and packet pick-up:
7:00 – 9:15 am

Race day registration closes at:
5K run: 7:45 am
Family Fun Walk: 8:30 am
Daisy Dash: 9:15am

Scheduled start times:
8:00 am: 5K Run
8:45 am: 2K Family Fun Walk
9:30 am Daisy Dash (for kids)

Activities include

Raffle
Silent Auction
Arts, crafts & activities for kids
Entertainment by Irish Band Erin Rougue
and more!

Public Safety Team Challenge

This is the fourth year of the Public Safety Team Challenge. The trophy currently resides with the 2010 champions from New Brighton Public Safety. To participate, register as an individual, and stop by the Public Safety Challenge registration table the morning of the run to register your team. More information, including past winners.

Additional Information

This run is to commemorate Lino Lakes Police Officer Shawn Silvera, who was killed in the line of duty on September 6, 2005, leaving behind a wife and two young children. Shawn was charitable, living his short life of 32 years in service to others with integrity, devotion, character, compassion and strength. He embodied the powerful message carried by the words “BE HERE NOW – LIVE THE IMPORTANCE OF TODAY” - savoring daily moments, relishing opportunities to learn and appreciating his gift to help someone in need. It is for these reasons that we honor Shawn with this event. All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Pre-registrants guaranteed a Goodie Bag.
