Brief Description

Join us for the 8th Annual Beat the Heat! This event is scored by The Runner’s High using the ChampionChip Timing System.

T-shirts

T-shirts are guaranteed to those whose registration forms are received by August 14th; available while supplies last to those received after August 14th including day of race registration beginning at 7:00 A.M. on Race Day (8/21/10).

Champion Chip Timing System

On race day, walkers and runners will be issued a rental computer chip which is attached to the shoe lace and worn throughout the race. Special mats at the finish will record a finishing time for each chip. All rental chips must be returned at the finish line. There is a $35 fee for each lost chip.

Awards and Prizes

Awards will be presented at the ceremony following the race. Awards to Top Male and Top Female Overall and to 1st place in the following Male and Female age groups: Runners - U10, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ Walkers – No age bracket, awards to top 3. Over $1,000 in prizes will be given away by random drawing after awards are distributed. All registered participants are eligible for prizes. You must be present to win.
