Brief Description

Join us for the 10th Annual Beat the Heat! The event will start at Sloan School in Murrysville. This event is scored by The Runner’s High using the ChampionChip Timing System and will have a staggered start with competitive runners at the front of the pack

ChampionChip Timing System

We will make every effort to have our serious runners start the race at the front of the pack. This Event is scored by The Runner’s High using the ChampionChip Timing System. On race day, all participants will be issued a rental computer chip which is attached to the shoe and worn throughout the race. Special mats at the finish line will record a finishing time for each chip. All rental chips must be returned at the finish line. There is a $35 fee for each lost chip.

T-shirts are guaranteed to those whose registration forms are received by August 10th; available while supplies last to those received after August 10th including day of race registration beginning @ 7:00 AM on Race Day (8/18/12).

Additional Information

Awards will be presented at the ceremony following the race. Awards to Top Male and Top Female Overall and to 1st place in the following Male and Female age groups: Runners - U10, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ Walkers – No age bracket, awards to top 3. Prizes will be given away by random drawing after awards are distributed. All registered participants are eligible for prizes. You must be present to win.
