Brief Description

The run will take place in beautiful Palmetto Island County Park in Mt. Pleasant, SC. (Please remember that each participant will be charged $1 for entry into the park.) The track will cover tarmac, trails and boardwalks taking you through scenic marshes and spectacular natural corridores. Once inside the park, you will be directed to Big Oak Shelter where check in will be held and the band Not So Serious will be playing.

 

Registration

June 11th will be the last day for online registration. You will, however, still be able to register at the park the day of the event, but tee shirts will be limited. The cost is $25 for registration.

There is a MAP tab at the top of the page showing the location. If additional information is needed then please see Google Maps or Mapquest. Plametton Islands Park is approximately 12 miles from downtown Charleston and allow for 20 minutes of travel.

 

Park Entry

Please remember there is a $1 per person entry fee into the park.

 

Check-in

Check in will begin at 8am, and the race will start at 9am. There will be lots of other runners checking in as well. Please plan for parking and check in times when planning your morning.

 

Kids

Kids under 12 FREE! There will be a Fire Truck, Blast Proof Army vehicles and the Charleston 9 Tribute Race Car for the kids to see. There is also a brand new addition to the park called Splash Island Water Park for an additional fee. Discounts will apply to the water park for participants!

 

Course

The course will cover tarmac, paths, grass, and boardwalks.

 

Times

The park opens at 7am. Registration will begin at 8am, and the race begins at 9am.

Opportunities for sponsors include logo recognition on the flyer and T-shirt, promotion inserts in the gift bags, and a booth, tent, or table at the event. There will be refreshments, restrooms, parking, a shelter, and picnic tables available to all participants.

 

Packets

Packets may be picked up before the run at MUSC Wellness Center downstairs in the lobby on 45 Courtenay Drive in downtown Charleston. Pickup from 12-5pm on Saturday, June 13th. Participants may park along the curb in front of the downstairs entrance while picking up packets. If you do not pick up your packets prior to race day, they will be available for pickup the morning before the event at the Packet Table in the park.

Additional Information

Please plan to check in before 8:45am, as the race will start at 9am. The starting line will be in a large green meadow where you will find sponsor booths, a fire truck, and also introducing the Never Forget Charleston 9 Tribute Race Car. This is a family event where kids are welcome and children under 12 are free. There is also a Splash Island Water Park for the family to enjoy. Come out and support your local firefighters, and we hope to see you at the starting line!
