Brief Description

Enjoy the scenery and keep an eye out for monarchs on a 5K run or walk around beautiful Lake Nokomis.

Saturday, September 11, 2010
- 5K Run for the Monarchs starts at 9 AM (Untimed race)
- Kid's Butterfly Fun Run walk/race starts at 10 AM (Untimed race)
- Registration for both races starts at 7:45 AM and closes 15 minutes before each race.

Lake Nokomis Park, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Nokomis Naturescape Gardens at the intersection of East 50th Street and East
Nokomis Parkway.

Fees

- 5K Run for the Monarchs: $25 pre-register through Sept. 8; $30 (cash only) on race day
- Kid's Butterfly Fun Run walk/race: $10 Pre-register, $15 (cash only) on race day

Tees

- 5K Run for the Monarchs Tees: Participants will receive an official T-shirt with advance registration or may purchase on race day for $10.
- Kids' Butterfly Fun Run Tees: Participants will receive an official T-shirt with advance registration, or purchase on race day for $5.

All pre-registered participants may pick them up at the registration tables.
Any profits from the sale of T's benefit Monarch habitat programs.

Prizes

Prizes awarded in the Kids Fun Run for the best monarch wings, antennae, or caterpillar look.

Prizes awarded in the 5K Run to the first three runners over the finish line.

Proceeds

Proceeds from the Run for the Monarchs benefit Monarch butterfly habitat in the Minneapolis Parks and the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve located in the state of Michoacan, Mexico.

Additional Information

Strollers are welcome at the 5K family friendly event! Participants will receive an official Run for the Monarchs T-shirt.

Race day registration opens at 7:45 a.m. Please pick up your packet and register at least 15 minutes before your event. Participants may purchase an official Run for the Monarchs T-shirt at registration.
