Brief Description

Join us at Lake Harriet for a family friendly 5k Race to raise money for preservation of the bandshell and surrounds. Race fees in excess of $5 are considered a tax deductible donation (excluding processing charge). Serious runners, parents with strollers, dogs and anything in between are welcome.

Race numbers

Race numbers are distributed at check-in at 10:30am.

Can you walk

Yes, feel free to walk, just start at the back of the bunch so the runners can head off quickly.

Will this race be timed?

We will have a large digital time clock so you can track your running/walking time.

Are jogging strollers allowed; are dogs allowed?

Yes, both are welcome. If you are walking or jogging rather than running though, we ask that you allow the runners to be at the front of the group.

What do you do with the proceeds of this race?

Proceeds from the race go to the long term preservation of the Bandshell, refectory and surrounds. So proceeds from 2007 went to upgrade the bandshell sound system to enhance audience enjoyment at concerts. Feel free to donate an amount above and beyond the race fee if you'd like to support our work in Minneapolis Parks.

Additional Information

Race check in (for race numbers) begins at 10:30am. Race starts at 11am. Race is run on the parkway around Lake Harriet.
