Brief Description

Great way to start the Independence Day holiday. The 5K and 10K both circle Lake Harriet on the roads - you choose one lap or two! USATF certified courses, chip timing, short sleeve technical shirt.

Start/Finish

Races start and finish at the Lake Harriet Bandshell, located near the north west corner of Lake Harriet in South Minneapolis. Closest street intersection is 42nd St and W. Lake Harriet Parkway.

Parking

Participants should plan to park on neighboring residential streets. Roads around lake will be closed for the duration of both races - from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

10K Awards

$50 Cash awards will be presented to overall male and female winners of 10K. Age group awards also provided to first place male and female in 5 year age groups.

5K Awards

Awards presented to overall male and female winners of 5K. Age group awards go to first place male and female in 10 year age groups.

Timing

Race features chip timing by ChampionChip Minnesota.

Number Pick-up

Runners may pick up their bib numbers and chips on race morning beginning at 7:00 a.m. or may pick them up on Friday, July 1 from 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m. at Marathon Sports, 2312 W. 50th St., Minneapolis, MN 55410.

No Shirt Option

Participants who do not want a shirt may register for a reduced fee of $20. This option is available only via mail in registration and good through June 15th only.
