Event Info

The 5K and 2K are open to all ages. The 10K & Half-Marathon is open to ages 12 and higher. (Must contact Race Director for under 12) The Fit For Fun 2K is a special category within the 2K run for elementary school students and their coaches. Start Times

2K Fun Run/FFF 2K - 8:00am 10K Run/Half-Marathon – 9:00a.m. 5K Run/Walk - 9:20 a.m. Note: All 10K participants will be expected to have completed the course by Noon (when the roads are scheduled to re-open). All 2K participants will be expected to have completed the course by 9:00 a.m. All 5K participants will be expected to complete the course by 11:30a.m. All Half-Marathon participants are expected to complete the course by Noon.

Timing & Scoring

New this year is the Bib Tag disposable timing chip system in the form of a sticker that comes attached to your bib number. You are NO LONGER REQUIRED to place a timing chip on your shoes. The Get in Gear 10K, 5K and Half Marathon will use this timing system. (The 2K will have a clock at the finish line). Packets containing your bib number will be distributed on Friday, April 23rd at Minnehaha Park from Noon-8:00p.m. Packets may be picked up by friends and family members. See details below.

Packet Pick-Up

Packets are ready for pick-up on Friday, April 23, 2010 from Noon-8:00 p.m. at Minnehaha Park, site of the Get in Gear events in Minneapolis. You may pick up someone's packet with proper information.

Awards

Over $6,000 in prize monies, bonuses and special awards will be given out to the Get in Gear participants. The famed Get in Gear prize patrol will be awarding hundreds of gift certificates and awards to random participants. Every 500th finisher of the 10K receives a $50.00 gift certificate and the 2010th finisher receives a $100 cash prize. Link to awards at www.getingear10k.com for details.

Parking & Ride Options

Parking & Ride Options 7:00AM start to 12:30pm finish. Get-In-Gear is providing a park and ride shuttle service which will begin at the VAMC (Veterans Affairs Medical Center).

Parking Notice - VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE!

There is no parking allowed at the Minnehaha Park on event morning. Vehicles are subject to being ticketed if parked in a "no parking area." BE EARLY!!!

Baggage Drop

A courtesy bag drop will be provided for your convenience inside the Pavilion at Minnehaha Park.

Water

Water tables will be available at the start and finish of all of the events. One water stop is located at the 5K mark of the 10K course and adequate water stops with electrolyte fluid replacement drink will be placed on the half-marathon course.

Results

10K, 5K & half-marathon finish times will be displayed, recorded, and complete results will be posted at our website by 6:00p.m. April 24th - race day. Finish times will be displayed at the finish for the 2K finishers. No results will be posted on the website for the 2K.

Safety

For the safety of your fellow participants, bicycles, inline skates, skateboards, headphones, earphones, and dogs are not allowed on the race course. Strollers are allowed only in the 5K with pre-approved waiver forms posted on website.

Pre-Race

Park at the VAMC and hop a bus over to Minnehaha Park for the morning. Your t-shirt may be picked up before or after events. Join in the pre-race aerobic warm-up session offered by staff of Lifetime Fitness-Highland Park.

Music

We will have music playing throughout the morning at the park for your enjoyment.

Post-Race Showers

Lifetime Fitness Highland Park, located just across the Ford Bridge in St. Paul offers hot showers to any participant able to show their bib number as proof. Be prepared to fill out brief paperwork at the desk.

Buca Pasta Buffet

NEW for 2010 Buca di Beppo is hosting a pasta buffet from 4:00-7:00p.m. at the Pavilion in Minnehaha Park and the same site as packet pickup. You may purchase tickets when you register or if already registered you may register for the pasta buffet. This is limited to 500 our first year and includes Bucas caesar salad, house bread and butter, penne pasta both meat and meatless, iced tea, lemonade, milk or coffee and Edys ice cream. Tickets are $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child 10 and under.
