Brief Description

Start your Thanksgiving Day with the 6th Annual Drumstick Dash. This is a 10K chip timed event consisting of two loops around Lake Harriet. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Kenwood Park Youth Track Team.

Field Limited to 1500

The entry field for the Drumstick Dash 10K is limited to 1500 participants. This is to ensure everyone has room to run!!! Sign up early to reserve your spot.

Course

The Drumstick Dash is run on the road around Lake Harriet. This mostly flat 6.2 mile course begins and ends near the Lake Harriet Bandshell. Runners will circle the lake twice. Course is USATF certfied.

Shirts

Drumstick Dash 10K participants will receive a classic long sleeve cotton shirt featuring the famous Drumstick Dash flying turkey. Register at Marathon Sports and receive your bib, chip and shirt. Shirts will be available for on-line registration participants at packet-pickup. See below for packet-pickup options. Shirt sizes are available on a first come, first served basis.

Awards

Overall male and female winners receive $50 cash. Marathon Sports gift certificates will also be awarded to first place finishers in 5 year age groups.

Location/Directions

Lake Harriet is in south Minneapolis just north of 50th Street. The Start/Finish is at the Lake Harriet Bandshell. From Hwy 100 go east on 50th St or Excelsior Blvd. On 50th St, travel east to Upton Ave, turn north on Upton to 42nd St to reach the race Start/Finish. On Excelsior Blvd, travel east to Lake Calhoun Pkwy, turn south and follow parkway around Calhoun to William Berry Pkwy to reach Lake Harriet.

In Person Registration

Participants may register in person at Marathon Sports, located at 50th & Penn Ave S, from October 1 - November 21st. Payment is by cash or check only.

Packet Pick-up

Participants may pick-up their packets, including bibs, chips, and shirts in advance at Marathon Sports, 2312 W. 50th St., Minneapolis, on Tuesday, Nov. 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. or on Wednesday, Nov. 21st from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It is possible to have someone else pick up your packet for you. They only need your name and they must sign for your packet when the pick it up. Participants may also pick up their packets on race morning beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-up

Race Day registration will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. ONLY if there are spots remaining. Fee is $40. Pre-registered runners may also pick up their packets race morning from 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. near the Lake Harriet Bandshell parking lot.

No Pets or Strollers

For safety reasons, pets and strollers are not permitted in the Drumstick Dash.

No Refunds

All registrations are final. There will be no refunds given of race registration fees.

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to help with registration, water stop, and clean-up on race day. All volunteers receive a free entry to a future Running Ventures event - Cinco de Mayo 8K, Independence Races, Richard A. Hoska Rice Street Mile, or next year's Drumstick Dash!
