This is the third Alabama Nature Center (ANC) Critter Crawl 5K!! The Critter Crawl is a 5K TRAIL RUN benefiting the ANC education programs that takes runners through a portion of the ANC's 5 mile trail system. There will also be a 1 mile race beginning at 10:00 am. Moisture wicking shirts are guaranteed for participants registering before February 1, 2013. Shirts come in Mens, Ladies and Kids sizes! Extras will be ordered but run out fast.
From Montgomery, take Interstate 65 North to Exit 179. Turn right off the interstate onto Cobbs Ford Road. Take the first left just past the hotels (Edgewood Drive) and continue to the "t" intersection. Take a right and continue .3 miles to Lanark Road on your left. At the end of Lanark Road is the entrance to the Alabama Nature Center.
The Alabama Nature Center includes 350 acres of striking forests, fields, streams, wetlands and ponds that are traversed by five miles of boardwalks and trails. All trails are handicap accessible and consist of a wide gravel base topped with mulch chips.
There will be prizes for male and female overall, Masters (40+) and Grand Masters (50+). Also, three deep in the following age groups: 8 and under, 9-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70+

An addition to the line-up at this year's event is a costume contest! Dress your best and run as an Alabama critter! There will be prizes for the favorite costume! Have fun and be creative! This is our third event and hopefully the largest yet. We will have music and food for everyone, plus door prizes and lots of room for kids to play. 5k starts at 9:00 am and 1 mile starts at 10:00 am. Both races start and finish at the ANC pavilion. The course will be open for individuals who want to cruise the course prior to the race.
