REGISTRATION

Participants under the age of 18 must register on race day with a parent or legal gaudian.Packet Pick-Up will be on race day. Please arrive at 7:00AM. We will have packets grouped alphabetically for quick processing. Race will start at 7:30AM.

RACE #1 IN A 4 RACE SERIES!

This series of 5Ks has an interesting and unique twist. Each race will be conducted on different terrain with a variety of course designs. The first race, March 24th, is a Cross-Country adventure. Inspired by Danny Quesada and developed by his father, Mike Quesada, RUNNING WITH DANNY 5K RACE SERIES goal is to raise awareness of and funding for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

UPCOMING RACES

Other races on “the drawing board” a “steeple chase” style race at Vista View Park and a serious trail run in the challenging terrain of Virginia Key Bike Trails. Each race will be chip timed with points awarded based on finishing position. At the conclusion of all 4 races the point system will determine the champions of the series!

ABOUT DANNY

Danny was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis a little over 10 years ago. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease affecting the lungs and digestive system. The disease causes abnormally thick mucus, which results in frequent life threatening respiratory infections and continued hospitalizations. The disease attacks the lungs scarring them each time with different bacteria that the body creates, and the scarring is permanent. There is no reversal of the effects.

RUNNING WITH DANNY

Through it all Danny has been running. Competing with his school’s cross-country team and entering local 5Ks with family friends. The photographs Danny’s father would take at the 5ks were soon posted on a Facebook page called “Running With Danny”. Those friends and that page eventually led to this 5k series. Danny faces challenges head on. We invite you to paticipate in Danny’s upcoming series of 5Ks and run with a true champion. This young man has something to teach us all!
