Brief Description

The half marathon follows the course of the Red Cedar River from Colfax, WI to Menomonie, WI following township and county roads. The start is on West Railroad Avenue, close to the intersection of County Road BB and Highway 40. The finish is on 59th Street in the Menomonie Industrial Park. The 2 mile Fun Run/Walk is on town roads through Cedar Falls just north of Menomonie, with registration on 59th Street in the Menomonie Industrial Park. Registration is at start sites at 6:00 A.M. 8/28/10.

Directions

Take Interstate I-94 to Menomonie, WI. At Exit 45, take County Road B north. 1 mile to the north on County Road B turn to the left (west) on 650th Avenue. The next road to the right (north) is 59th Street, the finish for the half marathon and the start and finish of the 2 mile Fun Run/Walk. The start of the half marathon is reached by continuing north on County Road B until it ends at Highway 40. Turn left (north) on Highway 40 and proceed to County Road BB, the start of the half marathon.

Additional Information

Dunn County is part of Wisconsin's Driftless Area. There are many rolling hills in our county, but this race is relatively flat except for a hill early in the course of the half marathon. There are many homes along the course of this run so expect spectators. There are many outdoor activities in our area to enhance your weekend in the area. Hoffman Hills is a day recreation park to the south and east of the half Marathon. The Red Cedar River is great for canoeing and kayaking with grade 1 rapids. The Red Cedar Trail is a bike and walking trail that extends 14 miles from Menomonie to the Chippewa River and links up with other bike trails.
