Please stand up and walk the walk by joining the "A-Team" -- youth advocates for kids with neurological disorders -- to promote awareness, acceptance, action and advocacy at a day of fun and empowerment for kids, by kids and about kids.
Our third annual 5K family run/walk at Borough Park in Mendham is being expanded from its previous New Jersey Walks For TS format to an official 5K with timing by CompuScore. The event will strengthen the statewide education outreach and peer advocacy programs of the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders and will feature a family picnic immediately following the event! Bring your lunch and comfortable chairs! Stay for fun, music and entertainment!
Most importantly, join us as we walk to support children and families with TS, ADHD, OCD, anxiety disorders, Asperger's Syndrome and other neurological disorders. Make November 3, 2012, the day you join the A-Team, walk the walk and stand up alongside youth advocates for kids with neurological disorders! It doesn't matter what makes us different when we focus on what makes us strong.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 3, followed by warm-ups at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K at 10 a.m. sharp! Here are our current registration/fundraising incentives:
-- Sign up before October 31 and receive a 10 percent discount off the registration price.
-- If you are a team captain and are one of the first three to sign up 10 or more people between 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, and 9 p.m. Sunday, October 28, you'll receive a free pair of Red Star World Wear Sunglasses valued at $170!
-- The first 4 people to raise $750 between 2 p.m. Monday, October 22, and 9 p.m. Sunday, October 28, will receive a $30 gift card to Road ID -- an online leader in apparel and gear for runners and bikers.
-- The team which raises the most money by the final fundraising deadline of November 16 will receive two $50 gift cards from AMC Theatres, as well as a $100 restaurant gift card so the entire team (or part of it, at least!) can enjoy a meal together and toast their success.
-- There also will be two individual fundraising prize categories: Children (under 18) and adult (18 and over). The individual who brings in the most money in each of these categories will receive a $50 gift card for Amazon.com.
