Our Cause:
4 yr-old Hailey Meltz, of Appleton WI, is battling an inoperable low grade pediatric astrocytoma (PLGA), the most common form of childhood brain tumor. All proceeds from this event go to the PLGA Foundation and 100% of these funds will be used for research focused on this type of tumor. Help save Hailey and thousands of children like her by supporting this run/walk by raising awareness and research dollars. There is real hope but we are in a race against the clock and there is more work to be done!
The 5K Course:This flat course begins at Germania Hall, runs through downtown and the near northside of Menasha and connects to the panoramic Friendship Trestle Trail Bridge over Little Lake Butte des Morts and back.
Event Information:
The Run/Walk starts at 8:30 am.
Registration begins at Germania Hall at 7:00am. Same day registrations will be accepted until 8:00am. T-shirts(if registered by 4/5), goodie bags, DJ, post race refreshments and facepainting included. No bikes, pets, roller blades or skate boards please.
If possible please collect pledges from people who will sponsor you to run or walk. During the registration process there will also be an option to easily create your own
personal fundraising/pledge page online and raise money to support the PLGA
Foundation.
Those collecting $100 or more will be eligible for a drawing for great prizes.
PRE-RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP AVAILABLE ON FRIDAY APRIL 16 FROM 4-7 PM AT GOLD'S GYM 1700 APPLETON RD. MENASHA
Directions:
Hwy 41 to Hwy 441/10 East (Menasha). Take Racine St. exit, turn right (south) onto Racine St. Continue on Racine St. (1.4 mi) to Broad St. Right on Broad St. (1.5 blocks) to Germania Hall.
Awards:
Medals to top male/female overall and to 1st place finishers in each age group. Certificates to 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
Groups: under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-over.
