About the Event

Our 5K course begins and ends at Saint Luke School with a 1/2 mile fun run for the kids. After the race, there will be a post-race party with children activities, games, refreshments, and awards ceremony. This 5K course is a scenic route through the beautiful neighborhoods off Georgetown Pike in McLean, Virginia. This is a community event for the entire family.

Proceeds

Proceeds from the race support our non-profit school by funding needed capitol improvements. Race takes place rain or shine; sorry no refunds will be available.

1/2 Mile Fun Run: 8:35 a.m.

Registration and Packet Pickup

In person registration and packet pick-up will be held at Saint Luke School on Friday, September 23rd, from 12 to 8p.m. Race day registration from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. (Entry fees are higher, limited T-shirt supply...so register early and save!)

Registration Fees

Registration fee includes T-shirt, post-race refreshments, a chance for random prizes and entertainment. The 5K Run/Walk will be accompanied by a family fun run. The Fun Run will start at 8:35 am and participants will run around St. Luke School, which is half a mile. Registration Fees prior to Sept. 21st: 5K Run/Walk - $25, 1/2 Mile Fun Run - $12. From Sept. 21st and thereafter, registration fees will be $35 for the 5K, $15 for the 1/2 Mile Run Run. Fun Run Under 5 yrs is Free

T-Shirts

All registered 5K and fun run participants will receive a short sleeve t-shirt if registered by Friday, Sept. 9th. First come, first served for remaining t-shirts after Sept. 9th.

Awards and Prizes

The 1/2 Mile Fun Run is a non-competitive race. Each finisher will receive a prize. In the 5K race, awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers and in each age category.

Be a Volunteer

We needs lots of volunteers for this race. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and refreshments. To sign up, e-mail the race directors.

Chronotrack Timing

Transponder timing provided by Amazing Race Timing will be used to score the race. The system uses the Chronotrack B-Tag which is attached to runners' bib and records the exact time a runner crosses the starting line and the finish line, resulting in a net time for each runner. The B-Tag is disposable.
