SAFETY NOTICE:

During the race, runners must remain alert for the presence of emergency vehicles. At all times the eastbound (left) lane of the 7 Mile Bridge is OPEN FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES. All runners should keep to the right of the centerline of U.S. 1 for their own safety.

AID STATIONS:

Six aid stations will be available along the course, providing water and wet sponges. Emergency assistance will be by race official or ham radio operator. Read the enclosed health care information carefully. This is important.

HEAT WARNING:

All runners should be aware of the possible effects of hot weather on a distance runner. These include heat stroke, heat exhaustion and muscle cramps. The symptoms are:

a. Dizziness

b. Dry skin - no sweating

c. Redness

21d. Nausea or cramps

e. Goose bumps on chest or arms

f. Incoherent speech and thought

If you develop any of these symptoms, stop running and, if necessary, seek assistance.

PRE-RACE PACKET PICKUP AND DINNER – PRE-RACE/NUMBE

Will be on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Holiday Inn Express, 13201 Overseas Highway, from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Pasta dinner will be available at Catch 53 Ocean Bar and Grill, located behind Holiday Inn Express, offering tasty pasta specials for runners and guests on the evening of Friday, April 20th.

SATURDAY PACKET PICKUP - PRE-RACE/NUMBER AND T-SHI

on Saturday, April 21, 2012, begins at 6:00 A.M. at the Caboose on Knights Key.

AFTER RACE PARTY:

Deck & Pool Party at Holiday Inn Express, 13201 Overseas Highway, starting after the race, Saturday, April 21, 2011.

RACE TIME:

7:30 A.M., April 21, 2012.

ENTRY FEE:

$60.00, NON-REFUNDABLE.

PARKING & TRAFFIC INFORMATION IMPORTANT!

Free parking on Knight's Key at the east (start) end of the course is EXTREMELY LIMITED this year. Runners are encouraged to carpool or to park elsewhere. Please allow extra time as the bridge will close precisely at 6:45 A.M. and the run will begin at 7:30 A.M. NO parking is available at the finish line.

The bridge will be closed to all except emergency vehicles at 6:45 A.M. and will not reopen until 9:00 A.M.

RUNNERS FROM KEY WEST

RUNNERS FROM KEY WEST must be across the bridge to the start line on Knight's Key by 6:30 a.m. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Tune in to 104.1 FM, US -1 RADIO to listen to a special commercial-free music mix broadcast during the race.

TRANSPORTATION FROM THE FINISH BACK TO THE START

Buses will be provided at the finish to transport runners back to the start after the bridge reopens at 9:00 AM. For safety - you must wait for the bus. Overloaded vehicles will be stopped.

COURSE RESTRICTIONS

NO CRANK WHEELCHAIRS, ROLLER BLADES, ROLLERSKATES, SKATE BOARDS, BIKES, BABY STROLL¬ERS OR PETS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE COURSE.

NUMBER PICK-UP (As well as T-Shirts)

Will be available for pick-up at Holiday Inn Express, 13201 Overseas Highway, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, April 20, and before the start of the race, Saturday, April 21, starting at 6:00 AM. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR OWN NUMBER AND PRESENT PHOTO IDENTIFICATION which matches the address you used when registering, along with your confirmation receipt which will be e-mailed to you.

Get your numbers early because the race will start on time.

INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT YOUR RACE NUMBER

RUNNER'S NUMBER MUST BE PINNED ON FRONT AND BE VISIBLE. DO NOT REMOVE the B Tag from the back of your race number. These two tags must remain on the back of your race number in order to be timed and scored. Do not FOLD or BEND these timing tags.

SCORING

The race is timed with the Chronotrack System. Each participant will have their timing B tag placed on the back of their bib number. Runners need to pin their race number to the front of their tShirt ONLY - not shorts! On the back of the race number are two timing B tags which will record your start and finish time. Don't fold, bend, or remove these tags from your race number. Once taken off it cannot be replaced on your bib and expected to work. For more information: www.splitsecondtiming.com

SPLIT TIMES

Splits will be given at every mile and at the 10K mark

REFRESHMENTS

There will be plenty of cold soda, beer and water after the race.

DIVISIONS

Top 3 male/female overall winners, M/F overall Master, Grand Master, Senior Grand Master plus age division winners, 3 deep. Note: Overall winners and Master divisions are not eligible for age group awards. Age groups include for Men and Women: 12 and under, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-65, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 & over. Wheelchair Division 1 st, 2nd and 3rd place.

AWARDS

Awards will be presented to the top overall winners, top overall Master, Grand Master, Senior Grand Master and the top three in each age division. Awards ceremony will be immediately following the race at Knights Key. You must be present to claim your award.

You must have a photo identification matching the same address as you registered with to pick up your packet. NO EXCEPTIONS.

I understand I will be disqualified from future runs if I am found to have given my number or chip to another person not properly registered.
