Brief Description

The Tap 'N Run 4k at the Highland's Festival combines a ridiculous running race - a 4k with 4 beer stops along the way, crazy costumes, great times with friends, and unbelievable athleticism - with an all-day street festival on Baxter Avenue. JAM Active, along with O'Shea's, Flanagan's, Wick's Pizza, and Molly Malone's have teamed up to create this awesome day of racing and community enjoyment!

Age & ID Guidelines

The Tap 'N Run 4k is all about ridiculousness and fun with your friends. You MUST be 21 years of age by race day to participate and all beer chugging is 100% optional (water will be available at all beverage stops). All participants MUST have valid IDs available upon check-in which will be reviewed by law enforcement agenies. No valid ID = no race.

Racing as an Individual

Like any race out there, you can race as an individual in the Tap 'N Run 4k. Awards will be given out for the top 3 finishers in various age divisions, such as the 'Never Been Tapped' (21-25) or the 'Cougars & Creepers' (36-45) divisions. Racing as a Team

Teams of 2 to 10 can race in Tap 'N Run. The top 3 team finishes in each division - Pints (2-4), Tall Boys (5-7), and Growlers (8-10) - will receive team awards. Team times are based on the average between all team members. All team members are also eligible for individual finisher awards and all costume/extracurricular awards. After Party

Immediately following the Tap 'N Run 4k, JAM Active will announce award winners. Afterwards, all participants are encourage to stick around and enjoy the Highland's Fest. O'Shea's, Flanagan's, Wick's Pizza, and Molly Malone's will all be serving beer outside of their properties and a multitude of food options will be available up and down the street. Live music acts will also perform post-race and throughout the evening.

Highland's Fest

The Highland's Fest will feature live music, street vendors, food, drinks and a great time from Noon until 10pm. Baxter Avenue will be closed from Christy Ave. to Highland Ave. to create an awesome atmosphere for family, friends and community enjoyment.

Additional Information

The Tap 'N Run 4k will begin at 5:00pm with all racers chugging a beer at the starting line (not mandatory, of course). Athletes will then embark upon a 4k course with three more beer stops along the way and finish right in front of Molly Malone's on Baxter Avenue. Prizes will be awarded for top timed individual and team finishers, but also for categories such as I Just Came to Drink, Hot Mess, Best Team Concept, Put Your Shirt Back On and many more. The Highland's Festival street party will tentatively run from Noon until 10pm with vendors, food, drinks, and music throughout the day. Baxter Avenue will be closed from Christy Ave. to Highland Ave. for the majority of the day.
