Additional Information
Location:
The marathon starts up at Hardware Ranch which is located in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, part of the Wasatch Mountain Range. Located North of Salt Lake City about 80 miles and about 8 miles from Logan, Utah, home of Utah State University. Hardware Ranch is a refuge for elk, deer, and moose during the winter. During the winter and during hunting season, thousands of elk come to the ranch where they are fed and protected.
The Course
This is a great USAT&F certified course that gradually works
its way down Blacksmith Fork Canyon where the leaves will be changing
colors and an occasional deer, elk or even a moose can be seen along the
Blacksmith Fork River. Runners then pass through the quaint towns of Nibley, Millville, Providence and River Heights before entering Logan
where they will pass by the Historical Tabernacle and down town areas before passing below the century old LDS Temple. The average morning
temperature is about 35 degrees at the start and 55 to 70 by finish.
