Brief Description

1 Mile and 8 K races start together. They are run on blacktop surface out and back.

Guest Speaker

Gabriele Anderson, an Olympic Trials finalist and a two time cancer survivor. Gabriele Anderson is a 2004 graduate of Perham (MN) High School. In 2009, she was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma. She came back by setting the University of MN school record for 1500 meters at 4:13. Just 18 months later, she was diagnosed with aggressive thyroid cancer. The last radioactive iodine dose came just six months prior to her amazing performance at the Oxy Meets in May 2012.

Additional Information

This is the 35th year for this race. It is a fund raiser for cancer research and over 1.6 million dollars has been raised.
