Brief Description

5K Run - 16 mile Bike - 2 mile Run Start/Finish is near the Fitness center in beautiful Brunswick Forest. The 5K and 2 mile run legs are flat and fast through some of the many pretty areas of Brunswick Forest. The bike course is a flat and fast double loop with new, smooth pavement. Sreets are open to local traffic only. There will be free beer at the post race party courtesy of Brunswick Forest as well as good snacks, vendors, and prize drawings in a picturesque setting beside a lake.

Race Information

Entry fee $50 through April 13th. Late fee is $55. Team entries are $75 and $85 after April 13th. Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd M/F Open & Masters, also 3-deep in 5-year age groups. 250 total entrants allowed. Free beer and good snacks after the race with prize drawings and vendors in a party atmosphere. Custom race tech shirts for all entrants.

Packet Pickup Saturday, May 12th

Packet Pickup will be at Trysports from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. Trysports is located in the Mayfaire Town Center. Go to www.trysports.com for directions. Packet pickup is also at Brunswick Forest in the Fitness Center from 3:30 PM until 5:00 PM on Saturday www.brunswickforest.com

Event Rules

Anytime your hands are on your bike, you must have your helmet on and the chin strap buckled. No Drafting. Drafting will result in a DQ. Stay to the right at all times when not passing another cyclist or runner. Cyclists must obey all traffic laws. All roads are open during the race. General USAT rules will apply. Consult the USAT website for particulars.

Team Entries

Entry fees for Teams are $75, $85 late fee after March 13th. Team Entries will consist of (2) individuals. One will do both runs, the other will do the cycling leg of the race. Awards will be 2 deep in the Male, Female, and Mixed Team categories. Your race number must be passed from one team member to the other at your assigned bike rack and worn on the FRONT of the body. We recommend bringing a Number Belt for your race number. They will be for sale at packet pickup for $10.

Team Entry Process

Team Captain goes to Active.com registratin page, selects "Relay Team Captain - Create Your Team", fills out the registration info, and pays the fee. The 2nd team member is notified by the Team Captain to register, goes to our registration page on Active.com, clicks on the green "Register Now" button and registers by selecting "Relay Team Member", fills out the required information, and the team is now complete. The team is NOT entered in the race until BOTH team members register for the race.

Awards

Individual and 2-person Team entry categories. Awards go 3-deep Open & Masters Overall, 3-deep in 5-year age groups, and 2-deep awards M/F/Mixed Team Categories.

RMO Event Photography will be at the race taking pictures of you in action and will make those pics available to you online. Check them out at http://www.rmoeventphotography.com/ for a sample of their work. Go to their website a few days after the race and see proofs and package deals for great race photos.

Additional Information

www.brunswickforest.com is located 6 miles south of Wilmington, NC on highway 17. It is a beautiful planned community with all the amenities including a State of the Art Fitness Center where race day Packet Pickup and awards ceremony will be held. There will be free beer at the post race party courtesy of Brunswick Forest as well as good snacks, other hydration beverages, and prize drawings in a picturesque setting beside a small lake with a covered pier.
