Brief Description

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Join Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and the 15th Judicial District Child Advocacy Center (CAC) to raise awareness of child abuse in YOUR community.

This family friendly event will consist of a 5K and Kids 50 Yard Dash-just like when you were in school!

All children need heroes, but abused children need SUPERHEROES!

Superheros Wanted!

Dress in your favorite superhero costume! Awards will be given for the best costume-individual and family.

Kids 50 Yard Dash

Kids may participate in the 50 Yard Dash at no cost. Sign up forms for the 50 Yard Dash will be available at the packet pickup table prior to the event. The Kids 50 Yard Dash will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Awards

Awards given for: overall female, overall male, overall child, best costume-family, best costume-individual. Awards will be given for the top three finishers in each age division for each gender. Age Divisions:

Under 14

15-19

20-29

30-39

40-49

50-59

60+

All children participating in the 50 Yard Dash will receive participant medal.

Weather

This event will occur rain or shine. No refunds will be given.

Strollers

Strollers are welcome! However, since this is a timed event, we ask that all strollers begin at the back.

Packet Pick Up

Registration Packets may be picked up at the James E. Ward Ag Center on Friday, April 19, 2012 from 8 a.m.-7 p.m.

There will be no packet pick up on the day of the event. You may send a representative to pick up your packet.

T-Shirt Guarantee Registration Deadline

Be sure to register by April 6, 2013, to guarantee a t-shirt.

Child Registration

To register a child under the age of 18 for the 5K, a parent or guardian must register and enter his/her date of birth. On the second page the parent/guardian may "register someone else" and enter the child's information, including date of birth.

Additional Information

CASA trains volunteers to provide a voice in court for children who are victims of abuse and neglect while the CAC provides a child friendly environment with a multi-disciplinary approach for children to be interviewed regarding their abuse. All proceeds will benefit Wilson County CASA and the 15th Judicial District CAC, both 501(c)3 organizations.
