Additional Information
Sherry’s Run is a 5K Run/Walk to benefit those affected by cancer, with an emphasis on colon cancer. The run is dedicated to the memory of Sherry Whitaker who on May 12, 2004 lost her battle to Colon Cancer. Sherry was 43 years old when diagnosed with the terrible disease. Her fight to live lasted 12 months and 12 days. During that time Sherry was an inspiration to all of those around her. She never complained or ever asked the question “why me.”
Sherry did tell another cancer patient the reason she had cancer was to help others who were also coping with the same battle. It was Sherry’s desire to help others without any expectation of something in return that has inspired “Sherry’s Run"
