$20 through Sept. 23. $25 from Sept. 24 to Oct. 2. $30 race day. No charge for the One Kilometer Rug Rat run.

Brief Description

Appoximately 9.5 miles. Runs mostly on the scenic, unpaved Kansas River Trails. Water stations at approximately 3 & 6 miles.

T-Shirts

Runners whose entries are received by Sept 23rd will receive an official long-sleeve Sandrat Trail Run t-shirt. Enter early, because if we receive your entry after September 23rd, you may not get a shirt.

Race Day Registration

Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 7:00 am at John Taylor Park. Registration ends PROMPTLY at 8:00 am. Runners are encouraged to bring a canned food item to donate to the Ballard Center.

Awards

Special awards will go to the 1st overall and 1st age-graded master male & female finishers. The top runners in 5-year age groups will receive the coveted “rat trophies.” Awards will be presented immediately after the Rug Rat run. All Rug Rats under 12 years old will receive an award.

Proceeds

Some of the proceeds from this year's race will go to the Ballard Center, and to the "1953 Cross Country Fund at Kansas Athletics" in memory of Dick Wilson.

Directions

From the West Lawrence turnpike exit (the E. Lawrence exit is closed): Continue south and follow the signs for US 59 North. After crossing the Kansas River bridge (N of downtown), turn right on Elm Street (first street N of the river), to North 7th Street. Turn right and go 1/2 block to Taylor Park. From Downtown Lawrence: Go north across the river bridge and turn right on Elm Street (first street N of the river), to North 7th Street. Turn right (south) and go 1/2 block to Taylor Park.

Additional Information

Food and drink will be provided after the race by the Community Mercantile and Great Harvest Bread Co.
