Brief Description

This race is to raise awareness of the importance of an arts education and to raise funds for arts programs in schools who get involved in the event. Every 10 participants a school has earns a portion of the proceeds. Come out and enjoy music, dance and art work of the students of PBC along the race route.

Event Schedule: 6:00 AM Registration; 7:13 AM Wheelchair Division Starts; 7:15 AM 5K Certified Run and Walk Starts; 9:00 AM Awards Presented; 7:15 AM ~ 10:00AM Enjoy music and an art exhibit by Palm Beach County students

Commemorative Tech-Shirt

A commemorative tech-shirt is guaranteed to the first 500 people to register by Saturday, May 1st, 2010.

Timing Chip

The 5K Run and RaceWalk will be chip timed. The Non-Competitive Walk will not be chip timed. All runners and racewalkers will be issued a timing chip and bib number on race morning which should be picked up at least 30 minutes prior to the start. Failure to wear a timing chip during the event will disqualify the participant from being scored in the results. All runners and racewalkers must return their timing chip to the volunteers at the finish line or they will be billed $30.

5K Run Awards

Awards in the 5K Run will be given to the Top 3 Overall M/F Runners, Top Master M/F Runner and Top 3 M/F Runners in the following age group categories: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80+.

Non-Competitive 5K Walk Awards

There will be no awards for the non-competitive 5K Walk. Non-competitive 5K Walkers will not be chip timed.

5K Wheelchair Awards

Awards in the 5K Wheelchair Division will be given to the Top Overall M/F Wheelchair Athlete.

5K Racewalk Awards

Awards in the 5K Racewalk will be given to the Top Overall M/F Race-Walker. Racewalking is different from regular walking and will be specially judged during the event. Race Walking is a progression of steps so taken that the walker makes contact with the ground, so that no visible (to the human eye) loss of contact occurs. The advancing leg shall be straightened (i.e. not bent at the knee) from the moment of first contact with the ground until the vertical upright position.
