Brief Description

We hope you will join us for the 4th Annual Free to Breathe Lake Charles Lung Cancer 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk. This year's event is dedicated to the memory of Benjamin "Ben" Mount and is in honor of Cindy Hornsby. All proceeds will benefit the Louisiana Lung Cancer Partnership’s research, education and awareness programs.

Additional Information

The 5K course begins behind the Lake Charles Civic Center on Bor-du-Lac Drive and winds through the Margaret Place Historic District. The course continues along Shell Beach Drive under the majestic oak trees, where participants will enjoy the peaceful view of Lake Charles on the right and the prestigious homes of Shell Beach Drive on the left. Participants will be chip-timed. The top overall winners of the 5K run will receive a pair of running shoes! Awards will be presented to the top male and top female finishers in the following age brackets: 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50+. All children in the 12 and younger age group for the 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk will receive medals.
