Brief Description

The San Jacinto Museum of History will host the 1st Annual San Jacinto Texas Independence 5K Fun Run/Walk at the San Jacinto Battlefield State Historic Site on March 3, 2012. This event's proceeds will benefite the San Jacinto Museum of History's educational programs. The race will start at the base of the San Jacinto Monument and will pass by the Battleship Texas, the Texian Camp and the Mexican Camp and finally end at the Monument. Certified Course TX12011ETM.

Directions

San Jacinto Battleground is located in La Porte, Texas off of Hwy 225 - Exit Independence Parkway - Travel North and the state park is about 4 miles ahead.

First-Aid

The Deer Park EMS will be on site for first-aid needs. Texas Chiropractic College, Moody Health Center will offer free of charge to all event participants, staff and volunteers the following services: stretching, soft tissue and myofascial release treatments, Kineslotaping, mobilization and manipulation and first aid if needed.

Packet up times: Friday, March 2, 2012 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday, March 3, 2012 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. at San Jacinto Museum & Monument. Age Groups for both Men & Women: Under 20; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; Above 70 One Overall winner for both men & women 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in all age groups.
