Brief Description

The San Jacinto Museum of History will host the 2nd Annual San Jacinto Texas Independence 5K Fun Run/Walk at the San Jacinto Battlefield State Historic Site on March 9, 2013. This event's proceeds will benefite the San Jacinto Museum of History's educational programs. The race will start at the base of the San Jacinto Monument and will pass by the Battleship Texas, the Texian Camp and the Mexican Camp and ending at the Monument. Certified Course TX12011ETM.

Directions

San Jacinto Battleground is located in La Porte, Texas off of Hwy 225 - Exit Independence Parkway - Travel North and the state park is about 4 miles ahead.

5K Fun Run/Walk - 7:45 a.m.

5K will start immediately after the 1K Children's Run

Kroger...will supply bananas, apples and water. Texas Chiropractic College...before & after treatments Ozarka Direct will supply bottle water. Shipley Do-nut...will supply glazed donuts. Walmart will supply oranges, energy bars and energy drink.

Kids Area

We are having a Kids Area. Face painting, Chick-fil-A's cow, snow cones, and Bouncy Area. Sponsored by Chick-fil-A and SJC Federal Credit Union.

Start of Race

Mr. Muston will once again fire off his musket to start the 1K Kids Run at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K Fun Run/Walk around 7:45 to 8:00.

Additional Information

This race will be chip time. The course is certified. The start of the race will be started with a musket firing. An after race refreshments will be furnished. All participates will be allowed to ride the elevator to the observation deck after race.
