Brief Description

The Foot Locker Cross Country Championships Midwest Regional is open to U.S. high school students (male and female, grades 9-12) who will have not reached his/her 19th birthday before August 1, 2010. Runners compete in the races as unattached individuals.

Additional Information


The state where a runner resides determines in which regional meet he/she must participate. Runners must participate in the region to which their state has been assigned. Boarding school students must compete in the region of their school location. Runners attending high school or home schooled in the United States do not need to be U.S. citizens. Race Course Information
The course is 5000 meters and consists of grass and dirt paths. Spikes are permitted. School uniforms are not allowed. Course map is on the back panel. Course is open until dark on Thursday, November 25th and Friday, November 26th. The course is closed for warm-ups on Saturday, November 27th.

States Competing in the Midwest Regional
Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and U.S. citizens in Overseas Military Installations.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE
Runners may only participate in one race.

11:25 a.m. Boys Seeded

12:05 p.m. Freshman/Sophomore Girls

12:45 p.m. Junior/Senior Boys

2:15 p.m. AWARDS CEREMONY

Any runner, whether they are in a public school, home school, boarding school, private school or independent school, must run in the seeded race in order to qualify for the National Finals in San Diego.

Boys Seeded Race
• Qualification for the Boys Seeded race is determined by the runner’s previous best time.

• Junior and Senior boys who have run faster than 16:20 may consider running in the seeded race.

• Freshman and Sophomore boys who have run faster than the 16:20 qualifying time have the option of competing in the seeded race or Freshman/Sophomore race.

• Show up for the race you choose to run.

You do not need to inform officials of your choice prior to the run.

Girls Seeded Race and Girls Freshman/Sophomore Race
• All Junior and Senior girls must compete in the Girls Seeded race.

• Freshman and Sophomore girls have the option of competing in the Seeded Race or the Freshman/Sophomore race.

• Show up for the race you choose to run.

You do not need to inform officials of your choice prior to the run.

Boys Freshman/Sophomore Race
All Freshman and Sophomore boys who do not qualify for the Boys Seeded race compete in the Boys Freshman/Sophomore race.

Boys Junior/Senior Race
All Junior and Senior boys who do not qualify for the Boys Seeded race compete in the Boys Junior/Senior race.

Individual Medals
The top twenty-four (24) finishers in all races are awarded medals.

Participant’s Awards
Every runner in every race will receive a short-sleeved T-shirt and a meet program highlighting the previous 30 years of Foot Locker races as well as previewing this year’s race.

State Team Awards
The top five (5) individual male and female finishers from every state in the boys and girls’ seeded races constitute that state’s "team." Each individual on the first five (5) state teams is awarded a medal. The scoring system will be based on total points (non displacement).

Parent/Coach Award and Discount
Every parent or coach who submits eight (8) or more entries together will receive a complimentary race T-shirt. The entries that you submit will be charged $15.00 per entry, provided that we receive your entries before the November 19th deadline.

Open Race
This 5000 meter race is open to runners in the following divisions: Junior High (grades 6-8), Open (ages 18-39), and Masters (ages 40 and over). Each entrant will receive a T-shirt. High school runners may not run in the Open Race. The top ten (10) female and male runners in each division will receive a medal.

Distressed Runners
The health and safety of each competitor is our primary concern. Foot Locker meet officials will act in the runner’s best interest. Interference by a parent or coach could result in disqualification.

FLCCC Race Apparel
Official Foot Locker Cross Country Championships event product can be purchased at the hotel on Friday or at the race site, University of Wisconsin-Parkside, on Saturday, November 27th.

Television Coverage
The 2010 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships will air on Fox Sports Net. Check local listings.

Pre-Race Dinner/Program
Friday night’s race check-in also offers a spaghetti dinner from 5:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. at the Racine Marriott. ($11.50 per person. MUST BE PRE-PAID AND IS NON-REFUNDABLE). A panel of athletes will hold a question/answer session after dinner at approximately 8:00 p.m.

National Qualifiers
The top ten (10) finishers in each of the seeded races qualify for the Foot Locker National Finals in San Diego, CA on December 11, 2010.

The Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals Headquarters is the Hotel Del Coronado, San Diego, CA.

Pick up is on Friday, November 26th between 2:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. or at the race site starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 27th. Please be aware that if you wait until Saturday to pick up your packet we cannot guarantee that you will be able to pick it up in time for your race.

Race Results
Race results will be posted shortly after each race. Results can be purchased at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside fieldhouse on race day for a fee of $1.00 per race. Complete race results will be available at www.footlockercc.com the evening of the race.

ENTRY FEES AND DEADLINES:
• On-line registration closes on November 24th.

Entries cannot be accepted without all proper agreement of waiver. NO REFUND OR TRANSFERS WILL BE GIVEN.

• Early bird entries received by October 30th will be charged $15.

• Entries after October 30th but on or before November 18th will be charged $18.00.

• Entries until November 24th and will be charged $25.00.

• Entries mailed November 18th through November 24th should be sent by an overnight service. The address for the overnight service is Foot Locker Cross Country, 603 Sixth Street, Racine, WI 53403.

• If your entry has not been received by November 24th for any reason, you will be required to pay a $35.00 late entry deposit fee to participate in the race. This fee will be held, then returned when the original entry and fee are received. The original entry must show a postmark that indicates FLCCC should have received the entry by November 24th or sooner to have your deposit returned.

• Confirmation: Send a self-addressed stamped envelope with your completed entry form or check the website www.footlockercc.com.

Location of the Course
• The University of Wisconsin-Parkside race course is located in northern Kenosha County, five miles south of Racine.

• Milwaukee is 25 miles north.

• Chicago is 60 miles south.

• Highway I-94 passes four miles west of the campus.

• Highway E runs east from I-94 and leads directly to the race course.

Parking/Race Site Information
Race day facilities: There is adequate parking in the lots adjacent to the University Fieldhouse. Runners will have access to the fieldhouse locker room and showers.

Directions to Meet Hotel from I-94
Exit at Highway 20 in Racine and head east. Hotel is located about 4.5 miles on the right. You must notify hotel reservations staff that you are affiliated with Foot Locker Cross Country to receive group room rate.
