Her Wish...Her Run...Her Kids
Jenny Zeplin, at the age of 26, died tragically on July 25, 2010 from injuries suffered in a traffic accident that also left her husband critically injured.
Jenny was a young wife and a school teacher. She loved children and teaching. Unfortunately, Jenny did not live long enough to have her own children, but she always referred to all her students as “Her Kids. “
Prior to the accident, Jenny was training alongside her husband to run in a 5K event. It was something that Jenny had wished and wanted to do.
Her husband's injuries prevented him from attending her funeral or even knowing of her unfortunate and untimely death. But as he slowly recovered from a traumatic brain injury and other serious injuries, he also dealt with the loss of his wife. He needed something to focus on, something that he could do and needed to do for Jenny. He formulated a plan, one that he could hold onto, to strive for, and one that would help him pay tribute to his wife. So thru all the months of therapy, surgeries, and more therapy he planned this event as a memorial to celebrate the two things that best embodied what Jenny was and wanted. So please help us Celebrate Jenny's life by Running 4 Jenny's KIDS. All donations and proceeds from the run are given to the school where Jenny taught and the money is used to buy supplies and equipment that are directly used by and for the kids.
