RACE HISTORY

The 31st Windward Half Marathon started in 1980 as a way to build relations between Kailua residents and Marines at the neighboring Marine Corps Base. Today the race includes runners from Kailua, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, the neighbor islands, the continental US, Japan and Australia. The 5K is a straight run on Kainalu Drive.

FUNDRAISER

This race is a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii - Windward Clubhouse. The goal this year is to raise $25,000 to support programming at the Clubhouse.

AWARDS

Half Marathon & 5K awards presented to the first three male & female finishers and to the top three male & female runners in each age group. Adult age divisions are in 10-year increments through 70+. 5K Baby Jogger awards to the top three male & female. Wheelchair participants, all ages. Youth age divisions for Half Marathon: 15 & under & 16-19; 5K youth are 10 & under, 11-12, 13-15 and 16-19. Keiki 100 yard dash awards to the first three finishers in the 3, 4, and 5 year old age groups.

PACKET PICK-UP

Friday, September 7: 12 Noon - 6:00pm at Boca Hawaii, 330 Cooke Street, Honolulu, HI or Saturday, September 8: 10am - 5:00pm at Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii - Windward Clubhouse located at Kailua Intermediate School, 145 S. Kainalu Dr., Kailua, HI.

T-SHIRTS

T-shirt guaranteed for all registrants prior to race day. T-shirt is not guaranteed for race day entrants.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION

Same day registration begins at 5:00am and closes at 5:30am. Half marathon starts at 6:00am; 5K at 6:20am and Keiki 100 yard dash at 8:30am. Keiki race is open for kids ages 3 to 5 only.

RACE DAY PARKING

Limited parking is available at Kailua Intermediate School, 145 S. Kainalu Dr., Kailua, HI
