Brief Description

The Boomtown Days Runs started in 2003 as part of Joplin’s annual Boomtown Days Festival. In 2009 we changed the event to include a half-marathon along with our traditional 5k. Both courses are USATF-certified. Starting from downtown Joplin, half-marathoners will run on city streets, where you will pass through the cities medical district, several of Joplin’s established neighborhoods, city parks, and golf courses.

2011 EVENT IS CANCELED DUE TO THE TORNADO!

Please note that the 2011 event is canceled due to the tornado. All registrations are being used to cover expenses already incurred with any remaining proceeds going to the United Way of Southwest Missouri and SE Kansas to help with tornado relief efforts. We invite you to join us on 6.11.11 at 6:30 am for a brief memorial service and a day of service. For more info, e-mail info@boomtownrun.com.

Banquet Information

Jeff Galloway

Jeff's quest for the injury-free marathon training program led him to develop group training programs in 1978, and to author Runner's World articles which have been used by hundreds of thousands of runners of all abilities. His training schedules have inspired the second wave of marathoners who follow the Galloway RUN-WALK-RUN™, low mileage, three-day, suggestions to an over 98% success rate.
