Hell Hole Swamp Festival

The run & walk are part of the "world famous" Hell Hole Swamp Festival. Participants are urged to stay the day for other competitions: horseshoe pitching, tobacco spitting, prettiest legs, etc. The one-of-a-kind (Thank God!) parade starts at 10:30 AM, immediately after the award ceremony for the run. Bluegrass and country bands perform during the day on the main square. Jamestown is 36 miles north of Mt. Pleasant on Hwy 41 and 20 miles east of Moncks Corner on Hwy 17A.

Course

The 10K course is TAC certified and is a loop course, one-half on paved and one-half on dirt roads, through the Francis Marion National Forest. Wildlife of all kinds (unfortunately some having no shoulders) may be observed. The run and walk start together and traverse the same course. Water will be available at the 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mile marks. EMS will be on call from the Town of Jamestown.

Awards

All pre-registrations will receive a t-shirt with artwork chosen from a competition among local school artists. The first 200 finishers will receive a HHSF medallion. Every five-year age-group winner and top-ten finishers will receive a gator-head trophy. The overall champions will receive large gator-head trophies. The gator heads are purchased from a Florida gator farm adn would be thrown away if we did not buy them, so please - no PITA protests!

Award Ceremony

The award ceremony will begin at 10:15 AM at the HHSF Information Booth on the main square. A poem, written by the race director while the runners are on the course, will be read as the ceremony begins.

Registrant's Check-In

Pre-registrants can pick up their race packets (shirt and race number) at On The Run in the Harris Teeter shopping center in Mt Pleasant on Friday May 6th. Remaining packets can be picked up at the Jamestown Town Hall starting at 7:00 AM race-day Saturday. Registration
