Brief Description

The Footsteps in Faith 5K and 1 mile fun walk benefits Genre's Kids with Cancer Fund, a nonprofit organization formed late in 2009 in honor of Genre Baker who was eight years old when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Our mission is simple - to assist families living through childhood cancer in any way we can, emotionally, financially, and spiritually.

You Can Still Register!

Online Registration is closed. You can still register by downloading a form at www.genreskidswithcancerfund.com. Print and Mail it with payment to PO Box 127, Irwin PA 15642. You can register in person at our 2 packet pick ups - Thursday, August 26th 6pm-8pm at Kerber's Dairy Farm on Guffy Road, N. Huntingdon, PA 15642, and at Irwin Park, Friday August 27th, from 6-7 pm. We will accept registrations from 7-8am on Race Day.

Participant Options

Both adults and children will have the option to register for either: 5K Run (Chip Timed) - 5K Walk - 1 Mile Fun Walk

Adult Registration Fee

Prior to July 28, 2010 (discounted rate) $20.00 - Beginning on July 28, 2010 (including race day registration) Adults $25.00

Child Registration Fee

Children 3 & Under are free and not required to register. Child (12 & Under) 5K Chip Timed: Prior to July 28, 2010 - $15.00 After July 28, 2010 ( including race day registration) - $20.00. Child (12 & Under) 5K Walk and 1 Mile Fun Walk - $10.00.

This is a wonderful community event, and we are excited to hold the race through Downtown Irwin! Downtown Irwin is a quaint, traditional small town with a variety of attractions for everyone. Come to Irwin to shop, dine, do business, or just pamper yourself. Irwin is home to many unique specialty shops, salons and boutiques for self indulgence and quality dining to complete your downtown experience. Come be a part of “One Great American Small Town” .

Additional Information

Please register by August 21, 2010 to ensure you will receive a race shirt. We will also accept registrations on race day from 7:00-8:00am. After the race, there will be an award ceremony. Please plan to stay and join us for a fun afternoon including music, live bands, concessions, Chinese auction, and children's activities. Local businesses will be offering special discounts in the shopping district and we invite you to see all they have to offer.
