Brief Description

Run the inaugural Double Helix Dash 5K (3.1 miles) or the 1-mile route through the distinctive double-helix running path of McMillian Park, as well as points through Cummings Research Park.

ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THE 5K IS NOW CLOSED DUE TO COURSE CONSTRAINTS. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. You may still register for the 1 mile fun run/walk.

GENERAL RACE INFORMATION

For the safety of all runners and for insurance purposes, only authorized runners will be allowed to participate in the Double Helix Dash 5K race. Additionally, unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, strollers, baby joggers, headphones and animals are prohibited. For the 1 mile run/walk, we encourage families to participate. So while unauthorized participants, bicycles, headphones and animals are still prohibited, bring your young children, including those in strollers.

5K RACE DESCRIPTION

RACE BEGINS at Genome Way entrance to McMillian Park. CONTINUE through McMillian Park. RIGHT on Explorer Blvd. U-TURN at Mark C. Smith Drive. U-TURN at Farrow Road. RIGHT at McMillian Park. RACE ENDS where it began at Genome Way entrance to McMillian Park.

1-MILE RACE DESCRIPTION

RACE BEGINS at Genome Way entrance to McMillian Park. U-TURN at Explorer Blvd. RETURN through McMillian Park. RACE ENDS where it began at Genome Way entrance to McMillian Park.

AGE DIVISIONS AND AWARDS

Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers in the 5K race according to the following age divisions: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

5:30 PM - 5K RACE STARTS; 6:30 PM - 1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK STARTS; 7:00 PM - 5K AWARDS

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The courses will have sentries at all turns. Split times will be called at each mile by our wonderful volunteers. There will be an overhead clock at the finish. We are grateful to the Huntsville Police Department for the traffic control during the Double Helix Dash.

SATURDAY, APRIL 7, 10AM - 2PM AT FLEET FEET SPORTS, 2722 CARL T. JONES DRIVE. (Late pick-up will be Tuesday, April 10, noon - 5pm at HudsonAlpha.)
