Brief Description

The 27th HHI Firecracker 5000 Road Race and Fun Walk will be held on Wed., July 4 at 8:00am behind the Mall at Shelter Cove at Shelter Cove Community Park. The Firecracker 5000, is the largest and oldest road race in Beaufort County and one of the top 10 races in SC. Over 1400 runners and walkers are expected.

The 2012 event will be chip timed.

Look for a few changes to the course for this year including a new start and finish location.

Additional Information

The 5K (3.1 miles) Hilton Head Firecracker 5000 course starts and finishes in front of Shelter Cove Community Park and takes participants through the fast and flat roads around Shelter Cove Harbour.

The festive post-race celebration features music, fresh fruit, ice cold refreshments, door prizes and more. A percentage of proceeds from the event benefits: Hilton Head Runners Club. and H2A "Hilton Head Aquatics Team"

Race Packet Pick Up and Late Registration
Sunday, July 3 ( location & times coming soon ) Race Day.. Shelter Cove Community Park from 6:30 - 7:30am.

PERFORMANCE ( tech ) SHIRTS TO ALL.... The first 1300 adult participants will receive a performance T, much better then cotton.

KIDS 12 & UNDER before 6/29 and pay only $25 - cotton shirt only - $5 late fee after 6/29

SORRY - no pets, strollers or baby joggers.
