Brief Description

Your local Highland Family YMCA would like to invite you and your family to make those “New Year’s Resolutions a Reality” and GET ACTIVATED with the YMCA! This community event features a Health & Wellness Fair, HALF MARATHON, 5K & KIDS FUN RUNS, Mayor’s FUN WALK, New multisport SPRINT DUATHLON (R2M-B10M-R2M) including RELAYS. Don't miss our SCHOOL Wellness CHALLENGE where local schools can earn up to $5 per registrant donated directly to physical fitness programs.

Additional Information

This event takes place Rain or Shine in the most beautiful surroundings of Highland, with majestic snow covered mountains, orange groves and tall palm trees lining the course. All participants receive medals for finishing the event plus AWARDS to the Top Three OVERALL Male and Female, Open AGE GROUPS as well as our new Specialty Divisions CHALLENGED ATHLETE, WHEELCHAIR, PUBLIC SAFETY (Police, Fire & Military) as well as ATHENA/CLYDESDALE & RELAY divisions. The Highland Family YMCA Run & Duathlon is the major fund raiser for the non-profit group that provides recreational opportunities for Highland youth and families. DUATHLETES NEED TO KNOW... Duathletes are encouraged to pick-up their pre-race packets on Saturday 1/30/10 8am-Noon located at the Highland Family YMCA 7793 Central Ave. Highland, CA 92346 909-425-9622. The Registration and Transition Area will be open on race day at 5:00am-and close at 7:00am. All duathletes MUST be properly marked prior to the start of the race. All Duathletes MUST provide proof of current USAT 2010 membership and or purchase a one-day membership to participate. Duathletes are also expected to know and follow ALL USAT racing guidelines as well as the rules of the road (no exceptions). PLEASE NOTE: This is Non-Drafting closed course competition! RELAYS consists of 2 athletes ONLY. A Relay Only area will be designated in the transition area. Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
