History
One of the Triad's most popular races, this event drew a crowd of over 380 entries in 2008. Tommy Boles (16:42) and Jennifer Vandiver (19:32) were the overall winners. Scott Dvorak (14:29) and Vicki Mitchell (16:40) hold the course records.
Starting Times
The fun run, for which no official times are taken, begins at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. The 5K is timed using ChampionChip technology.
Awards
In the 5K, merchandise awards will be presented to the first three men overall, the first three women overall, to the first three master finishers of each sex, and to the first three Grand Master finishers of each sex. Medals will be presented and to the top three finishers in each of the following age divisions: (both sexes) 10-under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69,70-74, 75-59 and 80-over. All fun run finishers will receive a medal.
Entry Fees
The entry fees are $20 for the 5K and $5 for the fun run. After September 1st, the fee increases to $25 for the 5K. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 350 entrants in the 5K.
Packet Pickup
Runners can pick up their packets and late entrants can register at Omega Sports in High Point on Friday, September 18, from 5-8 p.m. and also at the Millis Regional Health Center beginning at 6:00 a.m. on race day.
