Brief Description

We hope you will join us for the 3rd Annual Free to Breathe Harrisburg Lung Cancer 5K Run/Walk! This event provides an opportunity for lung cancer advocates, survivors and the community to come together to raise awareness and support in the movement to defeat lung cancer. All proceeds will benefit the Pennsylvania Lung Cancer Partnership’s research, education and awareness programs.

Advance Packet Pick up

For your convenience, advance packet pick-up will be available on Aug. 24 from 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. at: Inside Track 6301 Grayson Road Harrisburg, PA 17111

Parking Info

Public parking is available in a large City Island parking lot just south of the Walnut Street Bridge.

Additional Information

The race will kick off at the Riverview Pavilion and begin along the Susquehanna river on beautiful City Island. Runners will then track over the historic Walnut Street Bridge and into Harrisburg's Riverfront Park, which is one of the favorite "green areas" in the city. There, runners will run through the linear designed park, which contains an array of public art, as well as picnic tables, benches, overlooks and promenades. After the wonderful run in the park, runners will head back across the Walnut Street Bridge and end back at the Riverview Pavilion. Awards will be presented to the top individual fundraiser and top fundraising team (as of midnight on Thursday, August 23, 2011), and the top male and female 5K finishers. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in each of the following age divisions: 10 & under; 11-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+.
