Brief Description

36th Annual Canal Run is set for July 16, 2011 in Hancock, MI. The course is held along the Portage Waterway on Highway M-203. Both the 10 mile run and the 10 mile walk start at McLain State park and finish at the Citizens Bank building in Hancock. Both the 5 mile run and the 5 mile walk start near High Point Rd in Hancock. The 10 mile walk begins at 7 am, 10 mile run begins at 8 am, 5 mile run begins at 8:15 am and the 5 mile walk begins at 8:20 am.

Additional Information

Information about awards, warm-up clothes, t-shirts and other logistics on the day of the race will be provided on www.hancockcanalrun.com and in racer packets when you check-in. Upper Peninsula Road Runner Club members receive $2 off their fee. Shuttle service will be provided from Hancock Citizens Bank to McLain Sate Park. The shuttle will leave every 20 minutes beginning at 6:00 a.m. There will be an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner Friday, July 15 from 5-8 p.m. at First United Methadist Church (next to Race Finish). This years dinner will be hosted and catered by the Keweenaw Co-op Natural Foods Market & Deli. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and free for children under 6. The evening event will include local live entertainment and raffle prizes from local businesses. We hope to see you there!
