Past History

In its fifth year, this race drew a record field of 650 entries in 2009. Julius Kogo won the featured 10 Miler in a course-record 49:55. Helen Jemutai won the women’s title in 56:59 – a new course record for the women. Pete Gibson won the 5K in 16:48. Abby Fuquay won the women’s competition in 20:09. Blake Roberson holds the course record in the 5K of 16:23. Christine Reaser (19:29) holds the women’s course mark in the 5K.

Both races begin at 1 p.m

Courses

The certified courses are described as “flat and fast.” Both races start and finish at the Town Commons in Greenville and are timed using the ChampionChip. For a copies of the course map, go to www.usatf.org/events/courses/search/ and type in "NC07056PH" when it asks for Course Number to get the 5K course map. Type in "NC10103PH" to get the map for the 10-mile course. Or, visit our website for official map.

Teams

Team competitions in both the 5k and 10 Miler runs, must include 3 and no more than 5 individuals. Team scores will only include the top three finishers on each team. Awards will be given to the 3 teams with highest scores. Registration forms must be mailed together in order to be entered and registered as a team. Additional Information

This run is in memory Capt Christopher Cash, who died in service to his country in Iraq. Proceeds from the race will benefit The Capt Christopher Cash Memorial Foundation of NC, Inc (510c3) and are awarded as scholarships. Chris dedicated his life to helping others and through this race we continue helping others in his name.
