Brief Description

The Elwood Education Endowment's 5K Walk/Run for Education is a great family event. The 5K race is certified and sanctioned by the USA Track & Field (certification code NY-10067-JG) and walkers are welcome. No Pets, No Strollers. The Fun Run is once around the Elwood Middle School track for ages 9 and under. The Fun Run begins at 9:00AM and the 5K starts at 9:30AM. Entire net proceeds to benefit the Elwood Education Endowment a 501 (c) (3) Not for Profit Corporation.

Registration:

Online registration closes on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 5:00 PM. 5K registration permitted the day of the race until 9:00 AM; Fun Run registration is permitted until 8:45AM.

Fees

The fee for the 5K race is $20.00 until September 30, $25 thereafter. The 5K race fee for Elwood Students is $10.00 and the Fun Run fee is $5.00.

Check-In

Number and T-shirts may be picked up on the day of the race at the Elwood Middle School from 7:45-9:00AM.

Course Description

The 5K race is a moderately challenging course with several rolling hills meandering through Greenlawn, starting and ending at the Elwood Middle School. The Fun Run is once around the Elwood Middle School track (400M).

Timing and Results

Computerized chip timing and scoring is provided by Just Finish, Inc. Race results will be posted at www.justfinish.net.

Amenities

Top quality t-shirts will be provided for the first 200 entrants. Post race refreshments, raffles, music & awards, immediately after finish. Dr. Teresa Wukich, Family Chiropractor & CranioSacral Therapist, will be available post race for therapeutic muscle stretching, evaluation, & questions.

Awards

Awards will be presented for: Overall Male/Female 1st place winners; and Male/Female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each five year age category.
