Brief Description

The Great Cranberry Island Ultra is arguably the most unique ultra held in the US. Cranberry Island is the site of an infamous 5K race held in the 80s that attracted a cult following and international attention. Our island community has a long history of supporting, encouraging and producing excellent runners and events. We offer a stunning course, amazing hospitality, and excellent competition. This event is strictly limited to the first 75 who enter, no exceptions.

Getting There

Park and take passenger ferries from Southwest Harbor OR Manset OR Northeast Harbor Be sure and check exact times as boat schedules are subject to change.

Entry Requirements

All competitors MUST have run an ultra marathon OR finished at least three (3) full 26.2 mile marathons to be considered for a spot in our starting field...no exceptions

Post-Race Camping, Awards, and Celebration

We encourage all competitors to make plans to camp overnight (Sat) for the fire side post race party, dinner and awards ceremony. We supply plenty of free camping space including rustic showers. Participants must bring appropriate camping gear. Please note that post event revelry can go very late into the night. i.e. expect it or don't plan to attend but please consider yourselves cordially invited to our one of kind legendary post race celebration.

* Free, rustic overnight camping, at the start/finish area. (Saturday night ONLY.)
