Brief Description:

Join us for the 7th Annual Kayla 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk. This event is in memory of Kayla Hurst, an Ohio State University student and Granville High School graduate who died in July, 2003. Proceeds from the race support college scholarships which are awarded to one or more female athletes who graduate from a Licking County high school and who also exemplify a love of her family, a love of her school, and a love of her community.

Fees:

$18 to June 10th, $25 after June 10th.

Awards:

The top five males / females will receive special awards along with the top three in each designated category.

Age Groups:

Awards are based on following categories: 9 and under; 10-13, 14-18; 19-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65 and over.

Directions:

From Downtown Granville: Go east on Broadway Street; Turn left (north) on S.R. 661 (Pearl Street); Turn left (west) on New Burg Street; Granville High School, 248 New Burg Street, will be on the right hand side of the road.

Course:

The 5K race and the 1 mile walk both start in front of Granville High School on Burg Street. The 5K heads west on Burg Street to the Intermediate School where runners loop around the back of the Intermediate School and head back to the High School. Runners will then finish up on the track in front of the press box. The 1 Mile walkers will take a scenic route on a local bike path and will finish up on the track with the runners.
