Brief Description

The race is considered a “Barefoot” event, socks will be permitted, but only if they do not exceed 1/8” in thickness.

Start Times

5K start time 8:00am
Dash for the Cash 8:45am

Dash for the Cash

1.25mile sprint. Cash Prize for the overall Male/Female winners.

Location

The race will start and finish on the beach Las Olas Boulevard.

Packet Pick up

Friday April 15th, 2011 Exit 66(on A1A 100 ft North of Las Olas Blvd (Red building) 2-7PM

Race Day Packet Pick up April 16,2011 On the beach Tower 6 Las Olas and A1A 6:30am-7:50am

T-shirts

T-shirts will be given away to the first 200 people who sign up. Registering on race day may not be guaranteed a shirt.

Chip Timing

The event will be chip timed. The timing chip must be worn during the 5K or the participant will not be eligible for any awards or listed in the results. All participant will be charged $20.00 if they fail to return the timing chip to the volunteers at the finish line

Awards

Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female overall. Also top 3 male/female in the following age categories 0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+

Course

Starting at Las Olas blvd and A1A on the beach. Heading North making a U-Turn on returning to Las Olas.

Directions and Parking

I-95 North or South to Broward Blvd East, pass over Federal Highway (US1). Make a right onto SE 8th Avenue. Go to light at Las Olas and make a left. Follow to end. Parking is on the right hand side across from the Quarterdeck Restaurant.

After Party

After Party will be at EXIT 66 219 S. A1A.

Volunteer

Don't want to run, but want to be involved. Join a great group of people as we will be offering volunteer opportunities needed to help our event run smoothly. Positions ranging from Event Leadership to Day of Event Volunteers. Please email kelleinthezone@yahoo.com Volunteers are the back bone to any even, and can’t do it without you!!!

Transfer Policy

There is no transfer or cancelation policy.
race management reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event in the event of severe weather.

Proceeds to benefit the United States LifeSaving Association Ft. Lauderdale chapter(http://www.uslaser.org). All lifeguards,police officers, EMT personal, Fire Fighters and junior lifeguards who want to register can do so online or go thru Jim McCrady at jmccrady@fortlauderdale.gov.
