Brief Description

All proceeds from this event will benefit Hayden's Heroes, Inc. Hayden's Heroes, Inc. was created to raise awareness for a rare disease, Histiocytosis, by raising funds to be donated to research, helping families who suffer from Histiocytosis and to provide education about the disease.
Hayden's Heroes, Inc. was inspired by Hayden Boerum, a 5 year old from Frederick, MD. He was diagnosed at age three and has had several procedures, numerous blood transfusions and chemotherapy.

1K Fun Run

The 1K Fun run will start at 9:45 a.m.

5K

The 5K will start at 9:00 a.m.

Additional Information

Histiocytic disorders are a related group of diseases caused by over-production of white blood cells known as histiocytes, which can lead to organ damage and tumor formation. This group is made up of a wide variety of conditions that can affect both children and adults. In fact, the disease is so rare it is often referred to as an "orphan disease".
