The 19th Annual Chili 5k and Cookoff is a festival for the entire Wiregrass Community! During the 5k run, over 30 different chili teams prepare chili for you to sample.
While the chili is being prepared, we sell tickets for 1.00 dollar each. With ticket in hand, you can choose your chili, receiving a 4 ounce sample for each one of your tickets. Families can look forward to activities such as a aerial demonstration, Military Police K-9 Demonstration, & military aircraft and equipment static displays.
CHILI COOKOFF
RULES & REGULATIONS:
Teams will receive a copy of the competition rules, briefing schedule, regulations, and safety requirements upon registration. All Chief Cooks or designated registered assistant cooks must attend a mandatory health, safety and contest rules briefing prior to the event.
AWARDS:
There will be an official ceremony at 1400. Trophies will be given to the three “Best Tasting” chilies, "Best Overall" (combination of taste and show), “People’s Choice” (most popular), “Worst Chili” a special final presentation. There is no award for the hottest chili.
