Brief Description

The Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon, in its 33rd year, is run through the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park in Northwest Georgia. The park honors one of the Civil War's most important battles.

In 2010, readers of Runner's World selected the marathon as the "most family-friendly" marathon, the runner up for "most scenic" and third for best overall marathon.

Additional Information

In addtion to being a Boston Marathon qualifying race, this year Road Runners Club of America has named the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon as the Georgia State Championship Race.

The mostly paved course is challenging but not extraordinarily difficult. Numerous runners have qualified for the Boston Marathon on this course. Results will be provided to the Boston Athletic Association after official results are posted.

As the RRCA State Championship Race, championship plaques will be given to the overall Male/Female, overall Masters Male/Female, overall Grand Masters Male/Female and overall Senior Grand Masters Male/Female. We will also offer these award categories for the Half Marathon distance as well as additional age group categories in both races for our 60+ runners.

This race also offers a Wheelchair Division and we are excited to offer for the second year, in partnership with Children's Hospital Foundation, the Junior Miracle Marathon and the Run for Miracles Miracle Team. Visit www.RunForMiracles.org for full details
