The Patriot's Cup Corporate Challenge 8K has teamed up with ActiveTrainer coaches to provide training plans specifically for this race. These plans are designed for athletes of ALL levels, from the first-timer all the way up to the most experienced athlete. Included with your training plan is an online calendar, reporting tools, training calculators, maps, daily emails, and much more!

About ChronoTrack Timing

Transponder timing operated by Capital Running Company will be used to score the 8K race. The system uses a computer "tag" which must be tied to each runners' shoelaces and records the exact time a runner crosses the starting line and the finish line, resulting in a net time for each runner. The D-tag is disposable. Overall awards will be based upon clock time and age group awards will be based upon transponder times.

Additional Information

Any organization or community group can enter Northern Virginia’s premier corporate challenge. Corporate Teams consist of 5 to 7 runners in the All Men, All Women, or Coed division. The entry fee is $500 for a team. Teams: All teams must consist of 5 to 7 runners. The top 5 runners score by place. Corporate Coed teams must have at least two females in their top five finishers to qualify.

Team Registration: Any organization may enter a team of 5 to 7 runners in the All Men, All Women or Coed divisions. Neighbors, family members or friends that would like to organize a team of 5 to 7 individuals, may enter in the Community Open category. The entry fee is $500. Teams who register by April 15th can receive customized t-shirts with their corporate or community logo printed on the sleeve. Logos should be emailed to patriotscup@att.net. Teams will also receive a photo plaque with their team photo and race accomplishments.

Individuals: We gladly welcome individual runners. The entry fee is $35 by 4/26/10. All runners receive a shirt and are eligible for prizes and awards. Individual registration will also be available on race day beginning at 7:30am. The fee on race day is $40.

Kids: Bring the kids for free games and activities.

Prizes: Trophies are awarded to the top 5 teams in the Coprate Mens, Womens, and Coed Divisions and the top 3 teams in the Community Open Category. Gift certificates are awarded to the top 5 males and top 5 females overall plus top 2 males & females in each of the following age group;s:0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

The Course: The Course is an 8K (4.97 mile) double loop course and follows the George Mason University Patriots’ Circle Drive. The Start/Finish is at the Cultural Arts Building on campus.

Race Bag Pick-Up: Team Captains must pick up the all the race bags for the entire team. Pre-race bag pickup for teams only will be available on Friday, April 29th at the Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks. More information to follow with exact times. Team and Individual race day bag pick up will also be available at the Center for the Arts Building at GMU beginning at 7:30am. Individual race bag pick will only be available on race day beginning at 7:30am at the Center for the Arts Building at GMU.

Parking: Parking will be available in Lot A. Please follow signs and volunteers to Lot A.
